Those of us with an interest in WWASP/WWASPS/Teen Help and so on, are an eclectic group. We're made up of all sorts of people: psychologists, authors, lawyers, graphic artists, journalist, web masters, flight attendants, accountants, housewives, homeschoolers, high school students, college students, moms, dads, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, grand parents, step-families, friends, neighbors, Democrats, Republicans, military people, goverment officals, and people of all faiths.
While there is much we might debate among ourselves, we are all able to agree without reserve, that what WWASP is doing is abusive and neglectful to the students, and from a parents point of view, fraudulent.
It must be admitted, that there are lots of parents and some teens who are very happy with the program and say it helped them. I feel the explanation for this can be found with an understanding of the seminars; and a basic understanding of what brain washing is, and how it works. There are links provided on the home page, that I hope might help with this understanding. There are many books on the subject worth reading.
For instance:
Battle for the Mind: A Physiology of Conversion and Brainwashing
by William Sargant
Another one that is somewhat simpler to read but covers the issues well is
The Manipulated Mind: Brainwashing, Conditioning and Indoctrination -- by Denise Winn
There are many more to choose from and all will give you a description of the Program at some point in the text; although they might be writing about the Korean war when they do.
I hope you find this site helpful.
